Day 9
Thinking about human fragility and mortality today...
'For all of us there
comes a moment
when we get to the end of the page.
Maybe that will be the end of a sentence,
a chapter, even the book –
but for most of us, it will not-
And it’s left to others to turn the page,
to finish the sentence, to complete the story
That was our life.'
when we get to the end of the page.
Maybe that will be the end of a sentence,
a chapter, even the book –
but for most of us, it will not-
And it’s left to others to turn the page,
to finish the sentence, to complete the story
That was our life.'
Day 10
Transition Day! Time to go and look at the sea!
Officially, 'Week 1' has now ended.
It might seem as if it's gone on rather longer than the usual week.
My understanding is that for Ignatius, a 'week' lasted as long as it needed to, in order for the person undertaking the exercises to get to the point they needed to before moving on to the next stage. As this first 'week' has been very much about recognising our own sinfulness and God's grace, most of us could probably use about a year on this! I haven't engaged with Psalm 51 so much for a long time.
But it will be good to move on.
